Balcón de Bolívar, Paseo
Talavera and Calle Hernández
Bolívar stayed in this colonial
mansion on December 23rd of 1826, in his only visit to
Coro city.
During 1824, the house was confiscated by patriots forces and
became a barracks.
When Bolivar entered the city of Coro, was conduced all the
way down at Talavera Street where this house is located and
greeted all his enthusiasts and followers, from the patriot
forces, that congregated to welcome him, from the Balcony of
this House.
The Balcon de Bolivar was decreed National Monument on March 22nd of 1966.
From the moment el Liberator was guest at this house and
today, has passed 173 years.
Currently at the "Balcon de Bolívar" is located the
Coro Art Museum .
