Judío de Coro, Zamora Street Located in Zamora Street, is the oldest Jewish cemetery in America. The Jews arrived from Curazao to Coro at the beginning of the 19 century and this cementery was founded in 1832 by José Curiel. At that time the small Jewish community had not land prepared in case of death of relatives and was then when José Curiel upon suffering the loss of their small daughter Hana, that acquired a land, in what they were the outskirts of the city before, and built the Cemetery . The Jewish Cemetery of Coro was restored in 1970 and their restoration was in charge of the Israeli Association from Caracas, who raise the money for the financing of the restoration, with the technical supervision of the Ministry of Public Works, at that time presided by the currently Falcon State Governor Dr. José Curiel. Nowdays, the access to the Cemetery is restricted, the same remains close to the public.
