One of the most interesting churches in Coro is San Clemente. Its origin is from 1538 but the actual church correspond to a successive constructions which took place during the eighteenth century. The result of those reconstructions was this work of popular art where the interrelation between Hispanic and Nordic Antillean elements contribute to give a distinctive style to Coro Colonial architecture.

San Clemente Church was built in the shape of a cross with arms pointing to the cardinal points. Above of its door are two windows niches with painted colonial sculptures.

Currently, San Clemente is open to the public.
