Cruz de San Clemente, (San Clemente Cross),
Zamora Street It is affirmed that the cross of San Clemente was the cross used in the First Mass celebrated after the Coro's foundation and it was placed in the structure where today is presented since the times of President Falcón. The cross was carved in wood of Cuji, the typical tree of the region; the hardness of this wood makes its great age quite possible. The Cross of San Clemente is symbol of the Christian evangelization of the country. It is believed that the cross was made from the Cují where Ampíes met Chief Manaure. |
