En los
últimos días intensas lluvias han
azotado a Venezuela, causando inundaciones
y derrumbes en el
Distrito Federal así
como
en los Estados Miranda, Vargas,
Nueva Esparta (Isla de Margarita),
Yaracuy, Falcón, Carabobo, Zulia y Táchira.
Los reportes iniciales indican que alrededor
de 112,000 personas han sido afectadas,
más de 22,000 casas han sido dañadas,
y más de 1000 destruídas.
Se espera que las lluvias continúen
por lo cual el Gobierno de Venezuela
ha declarado Estado de Emergencia.
Hay aproxidamente 150,000 damnificados,
5000 y 30000 muertos. |

Over the last few days intense
rain
has fallen in Venezuela, causing flooding
and landslides in the Federal District
as well as in the States of Miranda,
Vargas, Nueva
Esparta
(Margarita Island), Yaracuy, Falcón, Carabobo,
Zulia and Táchira.
Initial reports indicate that 112,000 people
are estimated to be directly affected.
Over 22,000 homes have been damaged,
of which over 1,000 are reported to be destroyed.
With the rainfall expected to continue,
the government of Venezuela has
declared a state of emergency.
There are approximately 150,000
people homeless, between 5000 and 30000 dead.
